Hi, Looking for opinions about whether the resale value of a house would go up
or down
after adding a bathroom. I know, sounds obvious, but read on.

I live in a 4 bedroom, ONE bath older house. The bathroomis 6'3" X 12'6". The
way the
house is laid out, I could cut the existing bathroom in half, making two rooms
that would be
SMALL 6'3" X 6'1" after allowing for the wall in between them.

I could SQUEEZE a full bath in each half with one accessed like it is now, from
the main
hallway. I could cut a hole into the master bedroom from the second half bathroom shelf so I
would end
up with a master bath. But they would be SMALL.

The only other options I have would be to take away part of the walk-in closet
in the
master BR, or take the small adjoining enclosed porch, currently used as an
office and
convert it into a bathroom shelf.

Both of those options would give me a master bath without touching the existing
bathroom shelf,
but then I would lose either the office or a most of the closet. If I took the
office, which is
really a sunroom, I would have to do some major bathroom shelf reworking of the exterior of the
house,
i.e. taking out a bunch of windows and an exterior door, and resheathing and
residing to
match the rest of the house.

My wife and I are capable of doing all the work ourselves either way bathroom shelf, but we are
wondering
what would be the better way to go from a resale standpoint. Thanks, John

 

My sister, knowing about this piano and lighthouse thing I’ve got shelf going feeds it. For a long time, my mother tried to persuade me that 11000E on a piano was probably insane and then realised that really if I didn’t want shelf anything else, what did it matter.

I have this book at home called the Spring in the Moonstone shelf I think. I can’t remember for sure. What it is is something odd. In many ways it’s like a legend, in many ways it’s like a catalogue.

I bought it in Finland 10 years ago. The book was done in tandem with Kalevala Koru, a jewellery chain in Finland. They produce some of the most amazing jewellery shelf. I have a ring and some earrings from them. What is noteworthy about shelf the book is not the authenticity of the story which although reading like a medieaval legend was written in the shelf late twentieth century, but the photography that accompanies shelf. I tried this sort of mucking about last year with rather less success. I do, however, quite like this.

I have a great love of pianos. I don’t own one, that is to say my parents have a piano which I learned on and which may become mind in the future, but which may not shelf because I’ve other concerns. As for my personal tastes shelf, I would go for the more minimalist setting since that applies more to my style.

Burlington, Vermont - November 21, 2007

It's a truly happy Thanksgiving at the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf in Burlington.

The food shelf had issued a plea for donations after running seriously short of turkeys and other staples. The community responded -- in cash and in kind. By Wednesday, the food shelf easily exceeded its goal of giving away two-thousand turkeys in time for Thanksgiving.

Food shelf director Rob Meehan told WCAX News, "We had over 25 food drives happening, from different companies to schools, children to the university. So it's amazing, the community support. We had people driving up to our garage door. They hand you a turkey, they hand you a check. It's amazing. So we're pretty excited."

Meehan says the demand keeps growing. The food shelf served a record 193 families in a single day, he said, translating into well over five-hundred people. He warned that other canned goods are still in short supply and the need will remain straight into the new year.

Many Mokena residents have to take the daily jaunt on a Metra train to get to work. For some, the ride can be great time for a good book, but for others there are too many distractions to read.

The Mokena Community Public Library is giving these and others an alternative.

Last March, the library stocked Playaways on its shelves.

A Playaway is like an audio book without the cassette. It is about half the size of a deck of cards and only has one book on it that is already pre-loaded. Listeners can stop, go forward or rewind just like an audio book but without necessity of a cassette player.

The library also supplies ear buds to patrons. They don't have to use the ones from the previous patron.

Librarian Phyllis Jacobek first encountered the digital readers at an Illinois Library Association conference last year.

"We thought we would try them out and see how the patrons responded," Jacobek said. "I cannot keep them on the shelves."

Initially, the library purchased about 30 books, ranging from popular fiction authors like Jackie Collins to a variety of non-fiction works, but they were constantly checked out.

"I couldn't keep them on the shelf. People kept asking us to get more," Jacobek said. "I guess now wee have around 300 (Playaways)."
