i was thinking, and again, this can only happen if i have a pretty garment rack, i could avoid the "getting in trouble" part of not having a legit brick-and-mortar business by doing it behind closed doors. girls could make an appointment and then they would come over and shop. yeah, this probably isn't going to happen, but it's something i mused about.
i totally spaced and forgot that they were closing down. i was briefly disappointed i couldn't stock up on calvin klein bras in my new (bigger) bra size, but then i looked on the bright side--if a store is closing down, that means they might be selling their fixtures. garment rackhere i come! i've been dying for a garmentracksince it looks so cool and professional, and i don't have nearly enough closet space. also, i've been wanting to keep all the web site clothestogether, instead of putting them in five different spots. but i was too late and most of the stuff was sold to some guy named joseph. whoever joseph is, he's gonna get his. the only possible garmentracks i could have bought were occupied by hideous fur coats (shudder). they were not for sale, a worker told me. if there was a dumpster behind filene's i would have jumped in and dug for parts to make my very own frankenstein garment rack.
with garment racks on my mind, on the T ride home, i had an idea. i like having a little "biz" online because it's cheap and easy but i've always played with the notion of a brick-and-mortar business. (really, though, i just want to dress up the store front.) i like how it looks when i line up all the clothesin my closet; it's very colorful and nice on the eyes. so, inspired by some indie chick who was selling her junk down the street in front of the CVS, i thought maybe i should do the same thing, that is, only if i had a shiny garment rack. every saturday from 1-3 i could have my own "store" in plein air, but instead of CVS i'd put up shop in front of the liquor store because you know, vintage clothes and booze go together? i wonder how long i could get away with it before i got in trouble.
