How dependent are you on the bathroom mirror? Cover it up for a morning and you will realize you not only need it to brush your hair, but your teeth as well. Now I won't get into the particulars of what all we do in front of the bathroom mirror(like the half hour I spent post pregnancy after Isabella) and please don't share. Really though how often do you really look at yourself? Do you see the self that others see. Do you think the same thoughts about yourself as others do about you?
Now in my bathroomthere is a large bathroommirrorwaiting the exit of bathers. I grab my towel, ignore the image, and run to my closet, that has a glass door in it to the backyard. Strange don't you think that I would risk the neighbors seeing me * over me seeing myself. Yes, that sentence was a little wordy but how else do you describe a fear of nudity.... not from others, but yourself. Is there a scientific word for this? Now don't worry you will never catch me jumping off the dock at Janet's Dad's * or streaking at a football game. The fact of the matter is the crowd always comes to me. All I have to do is take my shirt off and both my kids will show up asking questions!
I have grown up and with the events that grow you up and bring change: outward and inward. This blog is my chance to let me be me and not the Sunday morning groomed Danielle, but the Danielle who struggles with depression and anxiety over family life. I will make this disclaimer now: this blog is about me. It is not intended to expose or hurt. Read it to be nosy, Read it to learn, laugh, cry, be inspired or because you want to know me more. I will be wrong sometimes and I will be right sometimes. I will be putting a curtain up in my closet. Please leave comments. I want to know what your thinking too. Especially the next time you look in the bathroom mirror
