There is nothing inherently wrong with bathroomscales. You can use them to make sure that you’re maintaining a healthy weight. You can implement them as bathroom accessoriesthat add to the overall decor of the bathroom. You can even use them to weigh packages that you’re shipping from home. But there are some things that your bathroom scales can’t tell you so you shouldn’t assume that they do.
The first of these is whether or not you are overweight. People berate themselves for the numbers on the scale but the numbers alone don’t say if you’re fat. Weight has to do with body composition and shape. It may fluctuate with hormonal changes or even with the amount of water you’ve been drinking. The scales can give you a ballpark figure about your general size but they can’t say definitively if you’re fat or not.
Likewise, scales don’t have anything to say about whether or not you are healthy. Just because the numbers on the scale change the way that you want them to doesn’t mean that you’re getting the nutrients that you need. You’ll need to take a look at the food going into your body to determine that, not the numbers popping up on your scale.
And most importantly, the scale can’t tell you about what kind of a person you are. Weight matters a whole lot to most people but it shouldn’t be the only thing that you base your self-worth on. The numbers on the scale may say "heavy" or "light" but they can’t say "kind" or "generous" or "compassionate". They can’t even say "beautiful". Get scales that match your showerenclosures and consider them decor instead of acting as though they’re omniscient beings.
