‘Crazy’ dustbin rules rubbishedApr 18 2008

Andrew Welsh
A FURIOUS Perthshire pensioner yesterday rubbished new bin collection guidelines stainless steel dustbin
, claiming they prove health and safety rules have gone too far.

Mrs Joy Gordon, of Glenorchil View stainless steel dustbin
, Auchterarder, blew her top when Perth and Kinross Council told her that staff were not being allowed to move the wheelie bin that belonged to her 90-year-old mother, Lily Macdonald, of the Lang Toon’s Sydney Crescent.

Council chiefs insist that manoeuvring a refuse cart up and down two small steps outside Mrs Macdonald’s home could put workers at risk of injury.

Instead, staff are now being told to haul bags stainless steel dustbin
of rubbish out of an old-fashioned dustbin that has been supplied to replace the frail resident’s wheelie bin.

“My mum wrote to the council because she wanted her bin uplifted every week stainless steel dustbin
,” explained Mrs Gordon yesterday.

Male succession law to be abolished

The law that forces the daughter of a monarch to make way for her younger brother is set to be abolished, it has been revealed.

Ministers are expected to use new equality legislation to stainless steel dustbin
guarantee women's succession rights, superseding the provisions in the 1701 Act of Settlement.

Solicitor General Vera Baird, who will help steer the new law through Parliament, said the current arrangements were "unfair" and "a load of rubbish".

"I have always thought that what we have to do with the Royal stainless steel dustbin
Family is integrate them as far as possible into the human race," she told the Sunday Times.

Ms Baird also wants to repeal the law banning the heir to the throne from marrying a Catholic.

"The ban on Catholics should be abolished, too, because that is discriminatory," she added.

The move was welcomed by Liberal Democrat stainless steel dustbin
equalities spokeswoman Lynne Featherstone, who said the rule should be "confined to the stainless steel dustbin
 of history".

"We can't have a law that is meant to stainless steel dustbin
fight discrimination and injustice but allows a blatantly sexist law on royal succession to continue," she said. "This is the perfect time to change the law when there is no one who will be personally affected. It shouldn't create a hue and cry."

Shadow justice secretary Nick Herbert said there was a "strong case" for making the change stainless steel dustbin
, but insisted wide-ranging consultation would be needed.

"Other countries where the Queen is Head of State will be affected by these proposals, and lifting the prohibition on heirs to the stainless steel dustbin
from marrying Catholics is not straightforward as it raises broader issues relating to the established church."

Other uses of term

The term 'garbage can' is also used for a stainless steel dustbin
of decision making, the Garbage Can Model of decision making. It is concerned with cases of decision making in great aggregate uncertainty which can cause decisions to stainless steel dustbin
arise that from a distant point of view might seem irrational.

A "Trash can" metaphor is sometimes used for a place on computers which stores a collection of deleted files. Called "Trash" on an Apple Macintosh, BeOS, and other systems stainless steel dustbin
. Called the "Recycle Bin" on Microsoft Windows. Formerly known as "Trash" and "Wastebasket" on GNOME desktop environments, it is now simply called "Deleted Items" -- the "trash can" icon remains intact, though stainless steel dustbin
.

A bin can also be used for recycling stainless steel dustbin
, such as a 'Bottle' bin, commonly found near supermarkets and trash piles.

In a workplace setting, a bin may be euphemistically called the circular file stainless steel dustbin
. Whereas useful documents are filed in a filing cabinet, which is rectangular, junk mail and other worthless items are "filed" in the bin, which is often round stainless steel dustbin
.

Bins in public areas

Certain public areas such as parks have litter stainless steel dustbin
which are placed alongside paths frequently walked by visitors stainless steel dustbin
. This encourages people to avoid littering, which creates an unhealthy and aesthetically unpleasant social environment.

Bins in outdoor locations or other busy public areas are usually mounted to the ground or wall. This discourages theft, and also reduces stainless steel dustbin
by making it harder for someone to physically move or maneuver the bins; to spill their contents on the ground for example, or to use the bin as an effective weapon to hit stainless steel dustbin
people over the back with.

Since the 1995 terror bombings in France stainless steel dustbin
, public trashcans have largely been replaced by transparent plastic bags, in which it is difficult to hide a bomb stainless steel dustbin
.In the past terrorists have left improvised explosive devices in bins. The bomb is much less likely to be spotted than an unattended bag and the metal bins provide extra shrapnel that injures people nearby when it detonates stainless steel dustbin
. For this reason there are no bins in most railway stations, most airports, and many shopping centres in the United Kingdom, or if they are provided they are just a bin bag hanging from a metal loop.

Apartment buildings often have two Dust chutes in which residents can dispose of their trash. These chutes usually lead to some large receptacle in the basement stainless steel dustbin
.

Curbside dustbins

The curbside dustbins usually consist of three types stainless steel dustbin
: trash cans (receptacles often made of tin, steel or plastic), Dumpsters (large receptacles similar to skips) and wheelie stainless steel dustbin
(light, usually plastic bins that are mobile). All of these are emptied by collectors, who will load the contents into a garbage truck stainless steel dustbin
and drive it to a landfill, incinerator or waste sorting facility to be disposed of.

Trash and recycling cans are often separated by typeIn some areas  stainless steel dustbin
there is also a recycling service, often with one or more dedicated bins intended to receive items that can be recycled into new products stainless steel dustbin
. These bins are separated into different categories (usually represented by colours) which determine what materials can be inserted into the bin. The most common materials used for recycling are paper, glass, metal, plastics and "green waste" (compostable material, either garden waste or food scraps or both). The contents of the bins are taken to a recycling plant to be processed, and there are various systems for recycling stainless steel dustbin
collection: single bin combined stream systems, multiple bin systems, and cyclic collections with different materials collected on different days. Due to the over flow of trash, the world today is slowly being consumed by the waste of humans. In about 2300, the world will be over filled by trash.

Waste container

A waste container is a container stainless steel dustbin
for temporarily storing waste, which is usually made out of metal or plastic. Common terms are dustbin, rubbish bin, litter bin, garbage can, trash can, stainless steel dustbin
, trash barrel, and rubbish barrel; the word can generally refers to a container made out of metal.

Indoor bins are traditionally kept in the kitchen to dispose of culinary excess such as fruit peelings or bottles, although there are also wastepaper baskets or wastebaskets stainless steel dustbin
which are used in offices to dispose of waste paper and other office refuse. Sometimes a bin can simply be referred to as "the garbage" or "the trash", in an example of metonymy, such as when one might ask "Where's the garbage?" in an unfamiliar kitchen.

A wheelie bin in Berkshire, EnglandMost bins have heavy lids on the top to seal in the odor that garbage tends to emit. Though most have to be opened manually, indoor bins sometimes have pedals stainless steel dustbin
which open the lid when stomped on. Many bins are now water tight and need to be checked to stop leaking.

Indoor bins are traditionally lined with bin bags,[1] which keeps the bin itself clean, facilitates the stainless steel dustbin
removal of the garbage and allows disposal with minimal contact to the contents. A common practice is to place multiple bags in each bin once a day so that one can empty the container by removing the bag and not have to replace it, speeding up the process stainless steel dustbin
.

Rubbish is usually kept in these receptacles until full stainless steel dustbin
, at which point they are transferred via the aforementioned bin bags to an outside receptacle, or simply to the roadside stainless steel dustbin
.

method of our own

God Dammit, I am disgusted by this stupid claim that we are “at war” stainless steel dustbin.

How the FUCK are we at war? WE picked a small, poor, country almost at fucking random and invaded stainless steel dustbin with overwhelming military force at a time and method of our own choosing, toppled it’s government by force of arms and occupied it with a huge force, using threats stainless steel dustbin, intimidation and collective punishment to maintain our authority stainless steel dustbin.

For a government responsible for this illegal invasion to justify it’s excesses by claiming to be governing in time of WAR, when there is absolutely no credible military threat to america stainless steel dustbin or whatever she wants to do, for that government to claim even more powers due to the emergency status of being a wartime government, well, that is simply foul stainless steel dustbin.

Certainly, the lies and justifications are blatant and disingenuous enough, but to allow this to stand, when every day another young american is buried in arlington for nothing but lust for power and cumulative greed stainless steel dustbin, at some point as citizens we MUST stand up and say NO MORE!

This historical crime shall not stand….

As a Congressional

Then there’s the fact that we’re at war. As a Congressional staffer put it stainless steel dustbin

In a close race, that “dash of Harvard disease” could be the difference stainless steel dustbin

trash and recycle pick up

The fun thing about Mondays is trash and recycle pick up on Grandma's street. Today, i was able to have two separate appointments with Gma, one at ten, and one at two. She lives on a narrow street, it's all curvy and hilly, so it's pretty fun to drive. It's more fun on Mondays when everyone has two to three stainless steel dustbins at the end of their driveways, or, more likely, in the street. (I use the term "stainless steel dustbins" loosely here. Everyone knows this is California, so there aren't three stainless steel dustbins, but one really small can and two huge recycle and green waste bins, it's just that i don't have a good term for all of them.)

Well, today, not only were the stainless steel dustbins out in force, but there were a few dog walkers as well. This adds another exciting element to my daily Grandma duties.

So i'm taking Gma home this afternoon, and we pull onto her street, and she says:

There he is, walking his dog again.

You know, sometimes she gets aways from him.

I don't even know if it's a she. More than likely it's a he.

Everyone has a stainless steel dustbin

I did a stint at a university in Spain during the summer of 1993. (How's that for dating me?) Nothing tests language skills like living with a non-English speaking family.

As we students met in the piso every morning for class, swapping stories about our host families, there seemed to be a red thread in our experiences.

We couldn't find a stainless steel dustbin.

As we quizzed each other, we realized that none of us had been able to locate a stainless steel dustbin in our respective host family's houses. We had all looked in the usual places. Nada.

The guys did not seem to have a problem with it. We girls, on the other hand, did. You cannot be a female and not have a stainless steel dustbin in the bathroom. ?Comprende?

We took it upon ourselves to talk with our host families that night. Everyone has a stainless steel dustbin, don't they?

Financial tips

As I was on these walks, I started to think the same way when I was as a child. What could I do with $20.00? It could help with any bill, help buying groceries, help with paying for gas, or buy a gift for someone.

So I got out a grocery bag, and put it in the back of my car. I also stuck an empty bag in my kids’ stroller. It is not extra work while on the walk, I just need to bend over and get the cans. Some people may look at me funny, or think I am in poverty. That is not the point, I am doing well financially. It is just extra money I can use somewhere else.

Just from taking my kids on a walk and picking up cans on the ground. Those that may think less of us for collecting cans do not have a millionaire mindset.

I do not dig in stainless steel dustbins, or in dumpsters to get the said cans, only the ones on the ground.

Since I have started this, I have noticed my-coworkers tossing aluminum cans in the stainless steel dustbins. I took one stainless steel dustbin, and put signs up to toss the cans in the garbage bag.

I know you can not become rich by recycling alumni cans! But you can help in your payments, or you even may want to take the money and save it for a trip.

An Easter Greeting
I was in Memorial Park today, running, and I have to say that Houstonians were really showing their lack of respect, today.  There was trash EVERYWHERE from all the picnics.  It was as if no one even bothered to clean up after themselves.  I noticed that several of the stainless steel dustbins were overflowing, which to be fair, is a problem too.  Still, I think that just because a stainless steel dustbin is full, doesn’t mean you get to litter.  You bring the garbage in, you can bring the garbage out.  Shameful.

grossed out by stainless steel dustbins
I am utterly grossed out by stainless steel dustbins. I will not touch them, I can barely look at them, and I'm forever yelling at my 6 yr olds (who are walking stainless steel dustbin magnets) to stay far away from them when we encounter them in public. Sometimes I see people leaning oh so casually on a public stainless steel dustbin or walking so close by them that their purses or clothes touch the can, and I just want to scream. And often do, on the inside. At home, we have stainless steel dustbins but I don't use them. Instead, I bag my trash in grocery sacks and toss them out often. Our stainless steel dustbins are for my husband's use, I bought him a nice big steel one for his birthday a couple of years ago because he was so sick of not having a proper kitchen stainless steel dustbin. It was the moment he knew I really loved him.

stainless steel dustbins things

My department recently acquired additional office space. It’s in the same building, but on a different floor. (They call it “the first floor,” but they can’t fool me. I can still see the fallout shelter sign above the stairwell.) It’s just one big office divided into cubicles, and everyone who works on our other two (above ground) floors thinks it’s wonderful and fancy. But trust me, with the mortar block walls and exposed piping above our heads, it’s not.

ANYWAY, we’ve been slowly receiving all the supplies we need for gloomy basement working since we moved down there a couple months ago. This includes stainless steel dustbins and recycling bins. But for some reason, the number of recycling bins has been growing exponentially since we moved in. It started with one bin in a central location; then there was the one centrally located bin, plus one in each cubicle; then one appeared next to the copier; then there were two centrally located bins. Then one day I left work with a stainless steel dustbin and tiny recycling bin in my cube and returned the next day to find that the recycling bin had apparently consumed the stainless steel dustbin and tripled in size. I’m a little afraid that I’ll get to work one day to find that all the cubicle walls have been replaced with stacks of recycling bins.

I get it, institution of employment, you want me to recycle. Enough already.

hello my stainless steel dustbin

You never know how much you like something until you lose it.  In this case I’m talking about our stainless steel dustbin.  We don’t have a whole lot of cabinet space- nor do we have a pantry so our stainless steel dustbin sat at the end of the cabinets.  Which was fine until Baby #1 got mobile.  It only took me several major trash clean ups to realize that the stainless steel dustbin had to go- in this case out to the garage.  I still needed something that would hold some of the trash because trucking it to the garage every time I have something to throw away wasn’t going to work.

Ghetto yes, but it worked for us- for four long long years.  Four years of explaining to everyone that came to our house and looked for the stainless steel dustbin that that ugly bag hanging on the cabinet door- that’s our stainless steel dustbin.  I know you’re probably thinking that we should have just gotten a stainless steel dustbin with a lid.  Well we’re cheap and Baby #1 has a way of getting into everything- even stuff that’s suppose to be “childproofed.”   On the plus side we did our part for the environment and used all of our grocery bags.  They’re still going to a landfill, but at least they’re full of trash.

Last night Hubs was making our meals for dinner co-op so I bought the stainless steel dustbin if he got the notion he could throw stuff away as he cleaned- instead of just letting it pile up on the counter.  I put it in it’s rightful place and what do you know- no one messed with it!  It’s been there all day and I haven’t had any spills- nor have I had to tell them to leave it alone (they probably don’t know what it is- they usually just put their trash on the counter for me to throw away).  Oh happy day- my friend is back.

Organize well

Don’t put your stainless steel dustbin under your sink. Get a relatively nice stainless steel dustbin with a lid that opens with a foot press. If the stainless steel dustbin is under your sink then you have to open the door and pull out the stainless steel dustbin every single time you want to throw something away. You won’t forget to take out the garbage if you can see that it needs to be emptied, and the likelihood that you’ll get critters is reduced since you’ll be taking out your garbage more often. Plus, you can move the stainless steel dustbin around the kitchen as you’re working.

Consider re-purposing some of your college items for your kitchen needs. An old index card file is great for holding seasoning packets and soup mixes. An over-the-door pocket shoe organizer can hold pouches, cans, and mixes on the back of a pantry door. Milk crates you used as a bookshelf in your dorm room can become bins for recycling. Your shower caddy makes a nice organizer for cleaning supplies under your kitchen sink.

When putting your kitchen together, arrange items in cabinets based on where you use them. Pots, pans, baking sheets, and oven mitts should be next to your stove. Glasses should either be next to your sink (if you’re a tap water drinker) or the refrigerator (if you prefer chilled beverages). Silverware and plates should be relatively close together since you most often use them together. Heavy items should be stored in lower cabinets, and mugs near your coffee pot.

Traveling thought

I’m in my tent at a beach North of Rosario and it’s just gotten dark. I pulled off the road at a dirt road that looked promising. It rapidly turned into ruts and rocks but the bike made it through OK. I setup the tent, cooked some beef broth with the Primus stove, and took some pictures of the sunset. I think this is a public beach due to the stainless steel dustbin and signs admonishing people not to litter. I’m not sure how much use it gets because there was no sign announcing it. The stainless steel dustbin is nearly full, though, and there are tire tracks everywhere.

It’s a little spooky to camp in the middle of nowhere by yourself. I’ve done it in a car before but that’s different, you feel protected by the steel and glass and you can pretend that no one can get in. You can’t beat the view from my tent right now though, the stars are the brightest I’ve ever seen and so beautiful. I’m hoping to wake up early tomorrow and head towards Guerrero Negro. There’s a hotel in Santa Rosalia with Internet access that I’d like to stay at too the day after.
